About this area
Why this area matters
Sofala is one of the provinces most exposed to cyclones, floods and droughts. Since Cyclone Idai in 2019, emergency response has been a permanent area of ANANDJIRA's work: when disaster strikes, the association mobilises to support affected families.
In February 2026 we took part in the distribution of food kits and other supplies to flood victims at the Bairro 2019 resettlement centre in Búzi.
