Frequently asked questions
01What does it mean to sponsor a child?
It means supporting a specific child with a regular contribution. Your support helps provide school supplies, food, health care and follow-up by our team, and you receive news about the child's progress throughout the year.
02How much does it cost and how do I pay?
The reference amount is shown on each child's page, in meticais or US dollars. You can pay monthly, every three months or once a year, by bank transfer or mobile wallet. Every contribution has a receipt, which is also kept in your sponsor area.
03Do I pay anything when I apply?
No. Applying is free. Our team contacts you to confirm the sponsorship, explain the commitment and send you the link to pay the first contribution.
04Can I meet or contact the child?
To protect the children, all contact goes through ANANDJIRA. You can write letters, which our team delivers, and visits are arranged with us in advance. We do not share families' addresses or contact details.
05What information do you show about the children?
We only publish children whose parent or guardian has given permission. On each child's page we show their name, age, neighbourhood or community and some interests; in the lists, only the first name. Never the address or date of birth.
06Can I sponsor from abroad?
Yes. You can choose to contribute in US dollars and pay by international bank transfer, using the IBAN and SWIFT codes shown in the payment form.
07Can I end the sponsorship?
Yes, whenever you wish. Just let us know by email or phone. We appreciate advance notice so we can look for another sponsor for the child.
