Context
Why this project?
Bairro 2019, in Búzi, is a resettlement centre where families who lost their homes in Cyclone Idai in 2019 now live. In 2026, new floods hit these families again, who were already in a very vulnerable situation.
On 16 February 2026, ANANDJIRA took part in distributing food kits and other supplies to flood victims at the resettlement centre. The distribution took place at Guara-Guara General Secondary School, led by the First Lady, Gueta Chapo.
ANANDJIRA continues to support the resettled families, with special attention to protecting children, who in emergencies are more exposed to dropping out of school and to risks of violence and exploitation.
